Hiram Women’s Soccer Drops Home Contest vs. Albion

HIRAM, Ohio - September 11, 2021 Hiram College women's soccer fell to the Albion College Britons, 2-0, on Saturday in a non-conference matchup at Charles A. Henry Field.

Albion got pressure early on the Terriers defense, and found the back of the net in the 21st minute, when Mia Crawford punched Avery Campbell's cross past the keeper for a 1-0 lead.

The Britons extended their lead just over 11 minutes later, when Megan Piontkowsky beat the keeper and a Hiram defender and found the back of the net, extending Albion's lead to 2-0.

And while the Britons outshot the Terriers, 12-4, in the half, and 20-8 in the game, Hiram turned up the pressure late in the first half, with a couple opponents that forced a save.

However, Albion's defense and four saves by Romee Natschke kept the Terriers off the scoreboard, giving Albion the 2-0 victory.

With the loss, Hiram drops to 2-3 on the year, while the Britons move to 3-1.

Emily Kazimore, Amanda Pittman and Caitlin Tucker each tallied a pair of shots for the Terriers, while Skyler Huda made nine saves in goal.

Hiram next makes the short trip to Berea, Ohio for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, Sept. 15 against the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets at 7 p.m., before returning home for their senior night on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. vs. Washington & Jefferson.
