ALLIANCE, Ohio - September 1, 2021 – Hiram women's soccer fell to the Mount Union Purple Raiders, 3-1, on Wednesday in their 2021 season opener at Mount Union Stadium
Andrea Decker gave the Raiders an early 1-0 lead with her goal 11:18 into the first half, and a little under 25 minutes later, Molly Eubanks made it 2-0 with her shot, off an assist from Madison Pepper.
But the Terriers began to find their rhythm, as
Isabella Galecki found the back of the net in the 42nd minute, off an assist from
Emily Kazimore, to cut Mount Union's lead to 2-1.
The Terriers headed into halftime down just a goal, but just under 14 minutes into the second period, Mary Double doubled the Purple Raiders lead to 3-1.
And while Hiram more than doubled their first-half shot total in the second half, Rylee Oldfield kept the Terriers off the scoreboard, giving Mount Union a 3-1 victory.

Shelby Jackson,
Amanda Pittman and
Briana Troyan each tallied two shots, while
Skyler Huda made seven saves in goal for the Terriers.
For the Purple Raiders, Mary Double led the home squad with six shots.
Hiram is back in action when they host Geneva College on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 4 p.m. at Charles A. Henry Field.
