WOOSTER, Ohio – April 3, 2021 – Hiram baseball split a doubleheader at Wooster on Saturday afternoon winning game one 7-6 and dropping game two 8-2.
GAME 1: Tyler Chumita got the scoring started for the home team hitting an RBI single making it 1-0.
Two Terrier home runs in the fourth inning would give Hiram a 3-1 lead.
Evan Fairbanks hit a two run shot followed by
Devin Houdeshell hitting a solo shot.
Ben Hines would help the Fighting Scots take back the lead in the bottom half of the inning hitting a three run double pushing Wooster ahead at 4-3.
In the final three innings both teams would trade leads.
Chaisson Marrs hit an RBI double in the fifth inning tying the ballgame at four. Wooster came back with two run bottom of the fifth inning. Grant Mitchell reached on a throwing error causing a runner to score. Dominic Stilliana hit a sacrifice fly making it 6-4 Fighting Scots.
Fairbanks hit his second home run of the contest in the sixth inning connecting on a solo shot.

In the seventh inning
David Paus hit an RBI single scoring Marrs making the Hiram lead 7-6.
Wooster put on two runners in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Terriers would hang on for the comeback win.
Stephen Javorek made the start for the Terriers giving up two earned runs over four and one third innings pitched. The right handed pitcher recorded seven strikeouts good for a season high.
Jacob Kocuba (2-2) picked up the win for the road side giving up no earned runs and striking out three batters over two and two thirds innings pitched.
Steve Spidell (0-1) took the loss for Wooster.
Paus, Fairbanks, Houdeshell and Corsillo each had two hits. Fairbanks picked up his second and third home runs of the season and also scored two runs with three RBIs and a walk. Corsillo has now recorded a hit in eight straight games.
GAME 2: Dane Camphausen tripled in the second inning getting a run across the plate for Wooster making it 1-0.
Kyle Workman evened the game at one after an RBI single that scored
Chaisson Marrs.
Doubles in the fourth and fifth innings would give Wooster a 4-1 lead. Camphausen and Alex Gasper recorded RBI doubles, Camphasuen a two run double, stretching the Fighting Scots lead.

Wooster brought four runs across the plate in sixth inning going on to win 8-2.
Daniel Quintero Jr. (1-2) took the loss for Hiram pitching four innings and striking out three.
Jay DiBacco (W, 3-0) took the win for Wooster pitching six innings and giving up one earned run.
Corsillo extended his hitting streak to nine games for the Terriers.
Hiram and Wooster will meet again tomorrow, Sunday April 4, playing a doubleheader at Hiram that is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
