Hiram Men’s Lacrosse Falls in Senior Day Matchup vs. Allegheny

HIRAM, Ohio - April 17, 2021 Hiram College men's lacrosse dropped the Senior Day matchup and season finale against the Allegheny College Gators, 23-4, on Saturday at Charles A. Henry Field.
 
Prior to the game, the Terriers honored their five graduating seniors: Juwan Brown, Alec Gentle, Dom Medina, Chris Biddy and Dillon Gump.
 
The Gators got on the scoreboard first with Patrick Hogan's unassisted goal just under 30 seconds into the first quarter. Hogan and the Gators would add three more goals, extending their lead to 4-0, before Hiram got on the scoreboard.
 
Medina scored the Terriers first goal of the day with 11:21 to play in the first quarter, cutting Allegheny's lead to 4-1. But the Gators added six more goals in the quarter to take a 10-1 lead after one, and scored four more in the second period to take a 14-1 lead into the halftime break.
 
Aidan Keenan notched two more goals for the Gators to open the third quarter, before Gage St. Leone and the Terriers answered two goals, one from St. Leone and another from Brett Johnson to cut Allegheny's lead to 16-3.
 
However, Hogan would add two more to Allegheny's tally before the end of the quarter, as the Gators pulled away, up 18-3.
 
Medina added another goal, his second of the day and seventh on the year, to cut Allegheny's lead to 21-4 in the fourth, but the Gators notched two more goals before finishing off the 23-4 victory.
 
Medina led the Terriers with five shots and two goals, while St. Leone and Johnson each added a goal as well. Defensively, Markus Johnson led Hiram with 10 ground balls, going 11-for-17 in the face-off circle, while Biddy went 9-for-13.
 
Gump led the Terriers with two caused turnovers, while Jack Lubinski led the Terriers in goal with 12 saves. Lubinski took the loss for Hiram, while Erin Mirkovich earned the win for Allegheny.
 
With the loss, Hiram wraps up the season 1-5 (0-4 NCAC), while the Gators move to 2-2 (2-2 NCAC).
