GREENCASTLE, Ind. - October 2, 2021 – Hiram Terriers football fell to the DePauw University Tigers, 57-7, on Saturday at Nick Mourousiz Field at Blackstock Stadium.
DePauw won the opening coin toss and after electing to receive, quickly got on the scoreboard first with a 65-yard kickoff return and a 29-yard touchdown pass from Josh Major to Danny Sheehan to take a 7-0 lead.
The Tigers would add four more scores in the first quarter, taking advantage of a trio of Hiram turnovers to take a 35-0 lead after one quarter of play.
DePauw looked to extend their lead near the end of the first quarter, driving into Hiram territory, but

And three plays later on third-and-eight,
Xavier Reyero found
Raequan Davis-Hereford for 58-yards, giving Hiram first-and-goal at the DePauw three. And while the Tigers' twice stopped the Terriers on first and second-and-goal, a unsportsmanlike conduct penalty gave Hiram the ball on the one-yard line, and
Malcolm Rogers punched it in for the score, cutting DePauw's lead to 35-7.
On the ensuing Tigers' drive, DePauw drove into Hiram's red zone, covering 66 yards over 14 plays, but the Terriers' defense stood firm, forcing a pair of incompletions on first and third down and goal to force a Tiger field goal attempt.
However, after the Terriers then went four-and-out, DePauw extended their lead with another score, and took a 45-7 lead into the locker room..
DePauw extended their lead on their first drive of the second half, following a Hiram punt, taking a 52-7 lead on Danny Sheehan's eight-yard rushing touchdown.
