Women's Basketball Falls Short in Matchup Against Oberlin

HIRAM, Ohio – February 15, 2020– The Hiram College women's basketball team fell to Oberlin by a final score of 71-45, Saturday afternoon.

The opening quarter was played close with the Yeowomen holding a slight 20-18 advantage.

Junior Alainna Conroy opened the frame with a three to give Hiram their first lead of the game (3-0).

The Terriers traded shots tying the game twice (9-9). From there Hiram would use a 7-1 swing to extend their largest lead of the night (16-10).

Oberlin evened the score one last time at 18-18, before posting a final layup to take the two-point lead (20-18) going into the second quarter.

The Yeowomen led the remainder of the game shooting 30-44 (68.2%) from the floor, tallying six blocks, and outrebounding the Terriers 39-29.

Conroy led the Terrier offense adding 10 points, while junior Madison Branch finished with nine points and three rebounds.

Hiram will hit the road on Wednesday, February 19, as they take on Allegheny. The matchup with the Gators is scheduled for 6 p.m.
