Men's Soccer Clips Bethany on Vitale's Game Winner

Sept.24-BETHANY, W.Va.- A goal by freshman Antonio Vitale proved to be the game-winner as the Terrier men's soccer team upended Bethany 2-1 on Tuesday evening. 
 
The Terriers picked up their fourth win of the year moving to 4-3-2 overall on the season, while Bethany fell to 1-6.  
 
The Bison made their move first off of an unassisted goal from Anthony Bradden to take an early 1-0 lead.   
 
At the half, the Terriers held an 11-7 advantage in shots with a 4-0 edge in corners.  
 
Trailing by one in the last frame, Hiram made their move with sophomore Tommy Rink scoring off an assist from senior Brian Corbin to tie the game 1-1. 
 
In the 88th minute, Vitale found the back of the Bison net to tally his first career game-winning goal off an assist from freshman Vincent Rienzi.  
 
The Terriers outshot Bethany 22-8 with an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.  
 
Sophomore Shelby Edwards and senior CJ Keith split time in goal. Edwards finished with a team-high three saves.  
 
Hiram will get back to work on Saturday, Sept.28 when they enter NCAC action against Wittenberg. The matchup with the Tigers is set for 1:00 pm.
