WILMINGTON, Ohio - November 23, 2019 - The Hiram College women's basketball team fell to the Quakers of Wilmington in an eight-point decision, 84-76, in their final game of the Fred Raizk Memorial Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Terriers opened up the game with a three from junior Alainna Conroy to cut the host's lead down to 4-3.

Junior Tashauna Wright's basket would help Hiram take their first lead of the game (5-4) with 6:48 remaining in the first.

Less than a minute later, Conroy hit a three to take the Terriers advantage to 8-4. Hiram's largest lead of the quarter would come inside the final two minutes when MicKayla Baldwin scored to stretch the lead to five (21-16).

The tides turned in the second quarter when the Quakers outscored Hiram 25-11 (44-32).

Fresh out the halftime break, the Terriers dominated the opening minutes with a 14-2 run to even the score 46-46. The remaining time would be played close with Wilmington finishing the quarter up by one (57-56).

In the fourth quarter, Hiram once again found themselves outscored by the Quakers, as Wilmington held a 27-20 advantage to round out the scoring at 84-76.

Wright led the Terrier offense, notching 26 points over the course of the game. Other scoring leaders included junior Madison Branch who finished with a career-high 21 points and six assists. Conroy added 18 points and four rebounds.

Hiram finished 14-16 from the charity stripe, forcing 24 turnovers, with a game-high 14 steals.

The Terriers will be back in action on Wednesday, Dec.4 when they take on Denison. The matchup with the Big Red is set for a 6:00 pm start.
