Box Score

HIRAM, Ohio - October 26, 2019 – Hiram Terriers women's volleyball swept The College of Wooster Fighting Scots, 3-0, on Senior Day on Saturday at Price Gymnasium to win their third-straight conference match.

After Hiram scored the first three points of the match, the Terriers and Fighting Scots traded points till the score stood at 9-8 Hiram.

The Terriers then proceeded to rattle off 13 straight points, take a 22-8 lead as Wooster was unable to break Emily Chrustic's serve.

Wooster cut the deficit to 12 with two quick points, but the Terriers finished off the set on two errors by the Fighting Scots to take a 1-0 lead with the 25-11 set victory.

Chrustic served to open the second set, and again, the Fighting Scots had trouble breaking her serve, as the Terriers opened a 4-0 lead. Wooster tied the score at 7-7 with a run of their own, before the Terriers jumped ahead, taking advantage of two service errors to take a 10-8 lead.

After trading points, the Terriers went on another run, outscoring Wooster 9-1 over the next 10 serves to take a commanding 20-10 lead.

Wooster slowed Hiram's run with a kill by Anna Medema, but the Terriers scored five-straight on Kayla Cole's serve to take the set, 25-11, and a 2-0 lead.

Though the Terriers again jumped out to an early lead, the third set would prove to be much closer than the first two. With Hiram leading 10-5, the Fighting Scots clawed their way back, cutting the Terriers lead to just two, 14-12, following a service error.

But after another service error, this time by the Fighting Scots, and a Wooster timeout, Hiram raced out to a 20-13 lead, scoring five-straight with Madison Burns' serving.

Wooster closed the gap to five with an ace from Syndey Fitzcharles, but the Terriers scored the final four points of the match to take the set, 25-16, and the match, 3-0.

With the win, the Terriers move to 15-11 (3-4 NCAC) on the year, while Wooster drops to 10-14 (3-4 NCAC) with the loss.
