Oct.19-OBERLIN, Ohio- Despite a first-half advantage, the Hiram College men's soccer team fell 2-1 to Oberlin, Saturday night.
In the second minute of the game, sophomore
Isaac Opoku put Hiram on the board off of an assist from freshman
Asish Pandey (1-0).
The Terriers maintained the one-goal lead heading into the halftime break.
The Yeomen responded in the 57th minute with an unassisted goal from Nic Jandeleit to tie the game 1-1.
The game-deciding goal came in the 63rd minute from Oberlin's Charlie Stube, cementing the Yeomen's 2-1 victory.
Oberlin held an 11-8 advantage in shots, but Hiram held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
Sophomore
Shelby Edwards started in goal tallying two saves. Senior
CJ Keith finished the remaining 45 minutes adding three of the five saves.
Hiram will continue their road tour on Tuesday, October 22, as they head to Allegheny. The conference matchup is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.
