KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Hiram College volleyball team recorded 37 kills as they defeated the Anderson University (Ind.) Ravens in a three-set match by a 25-17, 25-20 and 25-22 score on Friday night.
The Terriers improve to a 6-2 record and the Ravens fall to a 3-7 record on the season.
Hiram's offense was led by senior Laura Kelly (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson), who had 10 kills and a .222 hitting percentage.
Senior Marissa Jay (Parma, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) recorded nine kills and junior Grace Wilson (Chagrin Falls, Ohio / Chagrin Falls) followed with seven. Senior Claire Maier (Huntsville, Ohio/ Indian Lake) finished the match with 25 assists.
On the defensive end, senior Megan Schaefer (Elyria, Ohio/ Elyria) had a team-high 16 digs and Jay followed with 10, respectively.
The Terriers will continue on in the Kalamazoo Tournament tomorrow morning when they battle Finlandia (Mich.) at 10 a.m. and Kalamazoo (Mich.) at noon.
