Volleyball defeats non-conference foe Buffalo State (N.Y.) 3-1

HIRAM, Ohio -- The Hiram College volleyball team registered a 3-1 victory over Buffalo State (N.Y.) on Saturday.

The Terriers are now 17-6 overall, while the Bengals drop to 10-13.

Hiram rebounded after dropping the first set 25-13, by taking the next three 25-14, 25-18, 25-14, respectively.

Senior Lindsay Brewer (New Franklin, Ohio/Manchester) led the Hiram offensive attack with 17 kills and a .539 hitting perentage. Junior Marissa Jay (Parma, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) added 13 kills, on a .429 hitting mark.

Junior Laura Kelly (Massillon, Ohio) posted a match-high 21 digs, while Brewer added 11 digs.

Junior Megan Schaefer (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria) had 42 assists in the win for Hiram.

The Terriers finished the match with 47 total kills and a .333 hitting percentage.

Hiram will take the week off before returning to action on October 24 with two matches. The Terriers will take on NCAC foe and No. 25-ranked Ohio Wesleyan at 1 p.m. and then Randolph-Macon (Va.) at 3 p.m.
