GRANVILLE, Ohio -- For the fourth time in his career, sophomore Danny Robinson (Labelle, Fla./Labelle) rushed for over 100 yards, but the Hiram College football team fell to Denison 17-6 on Saturday night.

The Terriers drop to 0-5 on the season and 0-4 in the NCAC, while the Big Red remain perfect at 5-0, 4-0.

Robinson finished with 26 carries for 109 yards and a touchdown. This was the second time he eclipsed the 100-yard mark this year, also rushing for 132 yards at Kenyon on September 19.

Sophomore Alec Wells (Aurora, Ohio/Aurora) threw for 81 yards, while senior Jaylen Dinard (Tampa, Fla./Paul R. Wharton) had three catches for a team-high 52 yards.

Hiram led 6-0 entering halftime, but Denison stormed back with 17 unanswered points in the second half.

The Terriers drove deep into Denison territory on the opening drive of the game, before an interception in the endzone brought it to an end.

The Hiram defense held strong and forced on Denison punt on its first possession.

The Terriers would then jump on top, embarking on an eight play, 67-yard drive that resulted in a touchdown. Robinson accounted for the final 37 yards of the drive, rushing for a 17-yard gain and then scampering across the goal line from 20 yards out. Hiram would be unable to convert the extra point.

In the second quarter, Hiram had a chance to expand its lead, but freshman Diego Navar's (La Porte, Tex./La Porte) 42-yard field goal attempt hit the upright.

Denison would take the lead for good early in the second half, when Canaan Gebele found DuShawn Brown for a 42-yard touchdown strike.

The Big Red would expand their lead to 14-6 with 2:10 left in the third quarter, marching 78 yards on 10 plays and taking 5:29 off the clock, capped off on a six-yard score by Gebele.

In the fourth quarter, Dension would convert a 22-yard field goal to push its lead to 17-6 with just under 12 minutes to play.

Hiram would mount a drive of its own on its next possession, getting the ball inside the Denison 30, before stalling and giving the ball back to the Big Red.

From there, Denison was able to run the clock out to end the game.

Junior Kyle Burchett (Fairport Harbor, Ohio/Harding) finished with 14 tackles and senior D.D. Fleetion (Youngstown, Ohio/East) had 10.

Gebele finished with 178 yards passing for the Big Red and Brown had 11 catches for 142 yards and a score.

Denison outgained Hiram in the contest 327-245.

The Terriers will return to action on October 17, when it hosts Ohio Wesleyan at 1 p.m., as part of Homecoming festivities on campus all weekend.
