HIRAM, OHIO -- Senior Regina Zyle (Cleveland/Beaumont) moved into third place on the all-time digs list as the Hiram College volleyball team topped Denison and fell to Alma (Mich.) in a pair of five set matches on Saturday.
The Terriers are now 14-2 on the season and stand at 2-0 in NCAC play.
Zyle now has 1,469 digs in her career and is just 34 shy of moving into second place.
In Hiram's 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 15-13 win over Denison (7-9, 0-1), Zyle led the Terriers with 16 digs and sophomore Laura Kelly (Massillon/Jackson) added 13.
Junior Lindsay Brewer (Barberton/Manchester) paced the Terriers with a season-high 25 kills, while senior Jennifer Yardas (Moon Township, Pa./Moon) and junior Katie Barton (Newbury) each had 11 kills.
Senior Tierra Moore (Canton/Canton South) tied her season-high with 51 assists.
Against Alma (9-11), the Scots pulled out a tight five set win by scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-12, 24-26, 17-15.
Zyle added 27 more digs, which tied her season-high. Kelly finished with 14 digs and Yardas had 10.
Brewer led the Terriers with 12 kills and sophomore Marissa Jay (Parma/Padua Franciscan) added nine.
Moore dished out 33 assists in the contest.
Hiram will play next on Tuesday, when it hosts No. 7-ranked Mount Union in Price Gym at 7:00 p.m. The team will also be holding retro jersey night, where fans have the chance to pick out a throwback Hiram volleyball uniform.
