Box Score ALLIANCE, OHIO -- The Hiram College volleyball team lost to No. 7 nationally-ranked University of Mount Union, 3-0, in a non-conference match in Alliance.
Mount Union (20-0) defeated Hiram (12-6) in straight sets by the scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-16. Despite the loss, the Terrier offense was led by freshman Marissa Jay (Parma/Padua Franciscan) who recorded 11 kills. Sophomores Logan and Lindsay Brewer (Barberton/Manchester) were tied for second with five kills each. All-North Coast Athletic Conference junior Tierra Moore (Canton/Canton South) had a team-high 12 set assists and senior Danielle Day (Newbury) had two service aces.
Defensively, Day posted a team-high 18 digs. Logan Brewer, All-NCAC sophomore Emily Mortimer (Mogadore/Field) and junior Jennifer Yardas (Moon Twp., Pa./Moon) each recorded a block.
Hiram will host The College of Wooster in a NCAC match on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Price Gymnasium. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
