Smotek was the fuel for Hiram's offense throughout the past weekend at the Great Lakes Cross Over in Sandusky, OH, recording 40 kills and 30 digs over three matches against Kalamazoo (3-0 win), Kenyon (3-0 win) and St. Mary's (3-1 loss), which included 18 kills in the final match of the weekend against the Belles. The first-year from Independence, OH also added seven service aces during that span, and currently leads the Terriers in kills (40) and service aces (seven) in the early stages of the season. Capping off the weekend for Smotek was two total blocks in each of the three matches.Â
