Brodbeck showcased his ability to bounce back on Saturday at the ONU Invitational, as he lost his first bout by fall to Ohio Northern's Jacob Reed (2:13) before winning three straight bouts to guarantee himself a finishing place: win by fall over Heidelberg's Sam Smith (2:06), win by major decision over Otterbein's Tamas Eder (9-1) and win by technical fall over Tiffin's Christopher Oleksiak (16-1). The Hudson, OH native lost his final two bouts of the day to Mount St. Joseph and Olivet, but still earned his team 12.5 points in what shaped out to be a sixth-place finish in the 141-lb weight class.
