Nordquist enters his fifth season as an assistant coach with the Terriers' baseball program in 2025-26, having joined Hiram College from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, where he served as an assistant coach for three years.
With the Yellow Jackets, Nordquist coached hitters, catchers, and baserunners, and also assisted in the staff’s recruiting efforts and served as the program’s camp coordinator. Over his three years with the program from 2019-21, his third coaching stint with his alma mater, Nordquist helped Baldwin Wallace to an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) regular-season championship and NCAA Division III Regional appearance in 2019, as well as two OAC Tournament appearances.
Under Nordquist’s tutelage, 13 Yellow Jackets earned All-OAC honors, and two were named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Sports All-Mideast Region team.
Prior to returning to his alma mater, Nordquist spent three seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio, as well as the final 24 games of the 2019 season as the interim head coach. Over three seasons with the Blue Streaks, Nordquist coached 14 All-OAC honorees, including the 2019 OAC Player of the Year, 14 Academic All-OAC selections, four ABCA/Rawlings All-Mideast Region honorees and two NCAA Division III All-Americans.
Additionally, during his tenure as interim head coach in 2019, John Carroll went 13-11 and set program records for batting average (.335), runs (314), hits (459) and RBI (289).
During his time at John Carroll, Nordquist also coached summer ball with the Force Ohio Baseball Academy in Bedford, Ohio, serving as an academy instructor and the 18U head coach. In addition, Nordquist has also helped coach summer ball teams in the Valley Baseball League, the New York Collegiate Baseball League and the Alliance Ohio American Legion Post 166.
A 2012 graduate of Baldwin Wallace, Nordquist began his collegiate coaching career at his alma mater, spending two stints at his alma mater from 2012-14 and in 2016. Over his first four seasons with the Yellow Jackets’ program, Nordquist coached hitters, catchers, and assisted with all recruiting efforts, helping Baldwin Wallace to a pair of OAC Tournament appearances, the 2014 Mid-Atlantic Region Championship, and an appearance in the 2014 Division III World Series.
Over his first two stints with the Yellow Jackets, Nordquist helped coach a 2016 MLB Draft pick and the 2016 OAC Player of the Year, Mark Zimmerman, 16 All-OAC selections, 10 Academic All-OAC honorees, six ABCA/Rawlings All-Mideast Region selections and three NCAA Division III All-Americans.
In-between his first two stints at Baldwin Wallace, Nordquist also coached a year at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, W. Va., helping one freshman earn Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) All-Freshman Team honors.
A three-year letter winner for the Yellow Jackets, Nordquist posted a program-record .988 career fielding percentage behind the plate and helped Baldwin Wallace to a then program-best 27 wins during the 2012 season.
A native of Alliance, Ohio, Nordquist earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Baldwin Wallace in May 2012.
