HIRAM, Ohio – September 5, 2026 - Hiram College women's soccer team dropped a tight contest 2-1 against La Roche University in its first road game of the young season at Baierl Athletic Complex.Â
A scoreless tie was carried into the half between the Terriers and Redhawks, but it did not last long into the second half. La Roche's Mackenzie Mars put her squad in front with a goal in the 58th minute. La Roche extended the lead shortly after - taking a 2-0 lead. Â
Kali Baker answered the Redhawk's goal with a penalty kick in the 73rd minute. The Terriers continued its pressure to even the score as Reagan Mory and Becca Devericks both fired shots on target in the final minutes of the match.Â
Samantha Perdue was a bright spot for Hiram on the offensive side of the field with three shots on goal. Goalkeeper Madie Kennedy kept Hiram in the game - saving four of the six shots on targetÂ
Collectively, Hiram outshot La Roche 12-6 (8-6), while holding the corner kick edge with six to its opponent's three.Â
The Terriers will return home for a contest with the Muskingum Fighting Muskies on Wednesday, September 9 at Henry Field with kickoff is set for 4 p.m.Â
