Pittsburgh, PA – September 26, 2026 – Hiram College women's soccer fell 3-1 on the road against Chatham University Saturday afternoon at UPMC Sports Complex.
Chatham wasted little time taking control of the match, as Helen Bossart scored twice in a three-minute span. Bossart found the back of the net in the 19th and 22nd minutes, giving the Cougars an early 2-0 advantage.
The Terriers settled in defensively following Chatham's quick start, only allowing one goal the rest of the game.. Hiram continued to battle despite the early deficit and eventually found its breakthrough in the second half.
Ava Little put the Terriers on the scoreboard in the 70th minute, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Samantha Perdue provided the assist on Little's goal.
Hiram continued to push offensively in the second half, recording all six of its shots after halftime. The Terriers finished with six total shots, placing three on target, while Chatham recorded 14 shots, including nine on goal. The Terriers also held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Goalkeeper Madie Kennedy kept Hiram within striking distance throughout the afternoon, making six saves.
Hiram (1-6-1) will return home Wednesday, September 30, for a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup against Allegheny (3-4-2) at Henry Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. as the first half of a doubleheader with the Hiram men's soccer team.
