HIRAM, Ohio – September 19, 2026 - Hiram women's soccer lost a PAC matchup Saturday afternoon at Henry Field, falling 3-0 to an undefeated Franciscan team.
The Terriers fought hard throughout the 90 minutes, recording a couple of shots on target and fending off four of Franciscan's shots on goal, but a second-half surge by the Barons proved to be the difference.
Franciscan recorded 17 shots with seven shots on goal. The Barons also displayed their depth, with five different athletes recording a point.
The Barons balanced their attack with eight shots in the first half and nine in the second half, putting pressure on a gutsy Hiram defense throughout the match.
The Terriers were led by sophomore Samantha Perdue and freshman Sydney Kates, who each recorded a shot on goal and combined for six shots overall. Perdue had a chance to put the Terriers on the scoreboard with a shot that was blocked and deflected back to her. She quickly followed up with another shot, but it went just off target.
Hiram will get another crack at its PAC schedule on Tuesday when it travels to Beaver Falls, Pa., for a 7 p.m. match against Geneva College.
