HIRAM, Ohio – October 7, 2026– The Hiram College women's soccer team battled Thiel College to a 0-0 draw Wednesday evening at Stoeber Field.

After putting together a gutsy defensive effort against Waynesburg in its previous match, the Terriers continued that strong defensive play against the Tomcats, earning their second shutout of the season.

Thiel held a 18-7 advantage in shots, but Hiram's defense stood strong throughout the match. Madie Kennedy continued her strong play in goal, making eight saves, while the Terriers' defensive unit added two team saves to keep the Tomcats off the scoreboard.

Becca Devericks led Hiram with two shots, including the Terriers' first shot on goal of the match in the 85th minute. Her attempt sparked a late offensive push, as Hiram maintained possession in Thiel's half of the field during the final minutes.

Kali Baker and Sarah Kumher each followed with shots as the Terriers continued to apply pressure in the closing minutes. Hiram had six different student-athletes record a shot in the match.

Hiram will return to Henry Field on Saturday, Oct. 10, to host Saint Francis. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
