PAINESVILLE, Ohio – February 1, 2025 – The Hiram men's wrestling team lost to Lake Erie College on Saturday, 40-6, in a tune-up before the PAC Championships in the middle of the month.
The Storm lived up to their Division II level, having already faced five nationally ranked teams earlier this season. Lake Erie won nine of the 10 weight classes, although Lewis Deloach (133 lbs), Will Brodbeck (141 lbs) and Seth Holt (184 lbs) all lost by decision in a trio of tightly contested bouts.
The Terriers lone victory belonged to Jimmy Thomas, who won the 174-lb weight class by forfeit.
Hiram will now turn its attention to Friday, when it will honor its Teams of Distinction and celebrate Senior Night ahead of a home dual against Ohio Wesleyan inside Price Gymnasium in Hiram, Ohio.
