NEW CONCORD, Ohio - December 12, 2025 - The Hiram men's wrestling team opened up a busy weekend – which is comprised of two duals against OAC competition – with a 28-27 loss to Muskingum on Friday evening.
The dual came down to the final bout, which saw the Fighting Muskies win by technical fall and claim a 1-point win. Despite the loss, Hiram picked up four notable victories on the evening, as the season has shifted to some more team competitions as opposed to individual events.
After Taveon Moss (125 lbs) earned his team 6 points with a win by forfeit, Will Brodbeck (149 lbs) added another 6 points with a win by fall over Aiden Johnson (5:31). It marked Brodbeck's 10th victory of the season, as he joined Moss (14) as the two student-athletes on the team to have double-digit wins in 2025-26.
Jackson Bowers (157 lbs) followed things up with a win by decision over Wyatt Opferbeck (8-2) before King-Amari Wright (165 lbs) beat Gavin Greer by fall (1:07). At that point in the dual, Hiram held a 21-12 advantage.
Muskingum turned things around and won three of the final four bouts to claim the victory in the all-Ohio matchup. First-year Dino Longo (197 lbs) won against Dursa Bosat by fall (5:23) to cap off a strong evening for the Terriers.
Hiram will return to the mat on Saturday, when it takes on Mount Union for a 1 p.m. dual in Alliance, OH.
