GREENVILLE, Pennsylvania - January 29, 2025 - The Hiram Terriers traveled out to face a conference opponent in Thiel College in Greenville, PA on Wednesday evening, losing 39-14 in a competitive match against a talented PAC roster.
Some highlights included freshman Jackson Bowers, who won by technical fall (15-0)Â in the 149-weight class. The result gave the Terriers five points and cut the Tomcats' lead to 15-5.
Kaelon Lawson-West (157) also contributed and won by decision (12-6), which made the gap between the Terriers and Tomcats only seven points (15-8) through five of the 10 bouts in the dual.
The biggest win for the Terriers was by senior Jimmy Thomas (174), who got the Terriers' only pin for the night to trim the deficit to 21-14. Thomas' win came after nearly six minutes of action had elapsed (5:45).
The rest of the team put up strong efforts across the board, including Ian Fuentes (125), Will Brodbeck (141), Seth Holt (165), Jaden Bell (197) and Eddie Powers (285).
The Terriers are now 1-3 in the PAC and 2-7 in dual competition overall.
The Terriers will next be competing again against Lake Erie College on Saturday at 12 p.m. in Painesville, Ohio.
