Mory Scores In Double-Figures In Final Home Game Of Season

Mory, Hickman Play Well In Starting Frontcourt

HIRAM, Ohio - February 10, 2024 - The Hiram women's basketball team lost in the last home game of season to Denison University by a final score of 67-41 inside Price Gymnasium.

Despite the loss, Hiram was able to keep the game close in the first half as the team trailed by only 10 points at the intermission. The Terriers continued this push in the 3rd quarter, as they shot 41.67% as a team during that span.

Hiram was led by sophomore Ava Mory, who finished with 11 points  while shooting 5-8 from the field. Mory also had two steals and one block on the defensive side of the ball to go along with five rebounds. Brooke Hickman was also a force defensively, as she collected four steals and 11 rebounds in the game.

Denison closed out the game toward the end of the third quater with a scoring run led by the great play of their frontcourt and valuable trips to the free-throw line that would push it into the fourth quater with momentum.

The Big Red were led by Abby Cooch, who had 16 points.

The Terriers rode the production from their bench in the fourth quarter, as the reserves scored 8 of their 17 points. Despite the push, the Terriers would come up short in the end.

The Hiram women's basketball team will play their last regular-season game in Gambier, Ohio on Saturday, when they go up against Kenyon College at 2 p.m. before entering tournament play later this month.
