Hiram Rolls To 4th Straight Win, Tops Heidelberg For 1st Time Since 2012

Hickman, Seaman Lead Terriers In Another December Victory

TIFFIN, Ohio – December 18, 2024 – Hiram extended its win streak to four games with a 77-58 win over Heidelberg on Wednesday evening at Seiberling Gymnasium.

The four-game streak is the team's longest since it won four straight from Nov. 28 to Dec. 7 in 2022. The Terriers have outscored their opponents by an average of 21.0 PPG during the win streak, which has propelled them to a 7-3 record this season.

Brooke Hickman, the reigning NCAC Athlete of the Week, led all scorers in the game with 23 points on 9-17 shooting from the field. The senior from Mentor, OH also added 12 rebounds – six of which were on the offensive end – three assists and two blocks.

Sarah Seaman tied a career-high with five 3-pointers in the game; she previously made five 3-pointers against SUNY Geneseo in 2023-24 while a member of Fredonia. Diara Parsons added a season-high 10 points and Avril Drew had 10 points off the bench to fill out the biggest offensive contributions.

Three-point shooting fueled Hiram to a double-digit lead in the first half, with Seaman making four of her five 3-pointers during that span. The Student Princes were held to just seven field goals over the first 20 minutes, with Hickman and Ava Mory guarding the interior and Seaman, Isabella Caceres and Diara Parson playing well along the perimeter.

At the half, Hiram led 32-22.

The Terriers increased their quarter-to-quarter point total from 13 to 19 to 20 to 25, with the offense shooting nearly 50% for the entire second half (18-37). Hickman played a big role in getting Hiram to 40 points in the paint, while Parsons, Drew and Caceres kept the opposing defense off-balanced by complementing Hickman's scoring with production of their own.

Hiram cruised to a 19-point victory, which marked the program's first win against the Student Princes since 2012 (won 59-58 at Price Gymnasium).

The Terriers will return home to close out the week, when they host the La Roche Redhawks on Friday at 6 p.m. inside Price Gymnasium in Hiram, Ohio.
