HIRAM, Ohio – January 13, 2024 – The Terriers men's wrestling program hosted the yearly AMCC Quad meet on Saturday afternoon inside Price Gymnasium, a special opportunity to welcome three other teams from the AMCC to the Hiram College campus.

Hiram lost to Pitt-Bradford (30-11), Penn State Behrend (53-6) and Alfred State (42-9) (full results below), as it now will prepare in the coming weeks to meet those teams again at the AMCC Championships at Alfred State on Saturday, Feb. 10.

Freshman Nathan Westinghouse showcased his ability at 141 lbs, beating Pitt-Bradford's Mamady Traore by decision (1-0) to score the Terriers 3 points. He later would lose to Alfred State's Elijah Moshenek by decision (9-4) in another highly competitive battle.

Senior Seth Holt and junior Jimmy Thomas highlighted the team's efforts throughout the afternoon, combining for five wins against the three opponents. Holt beat Dennis Slovick by decision (11-4) and Benjamin Lloyd by fall (3:56). Thomas won against Farhid Negahban by technical fall (16-0), Justin Hockenberger by fall (3:43) and Elijah Timbrouck by decision (17-13).

In one of the most entertaining bouts of the day, Hiram freshman Ashton Kauf fought to the finish and nearly won in what turned out to be a loss by sudden victory to Alfred State's Richard Morales.

Hiram will stay home when it returns to the mats; the Terriers will host Saint Vincent on Friday at 7 p.m. inside Price Gymnasium in Hiram, Ohio.
