Terriers Fall To Saint Vincent In First Road Game

Hiram Moves To 0-1-1 This Season

LATROBE, Pennsylvania - September 3, 2023 - The Hiram women's soccer team fell to Saint Vincent, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at UPMC Field.

The Terriers had 8 shots on goal after having 6 shots on goal in its season-opening tie to Heidelberg. Freshman Reagan Mory led the team in shots (5) and shots on goal (4), while Skyler Huda had 9 saves to increase her season total to 20.

For the Bearcats, Tanisha Grewal had 2 goals and Emma Koller tallied 1 goal.

Tayleigh Price and Sydney Ladage had the first two shots of the game for Hiram, with Ladage's shot coming in just two minutes after she subbed into the game. A save by the opposing goalkeeper kept the score at 1-0, with Grewal scoring her first goal of the game in the 10th minute.

Hiram would have a few more opportunities in the first half on a penalty kick and a few other shots, but remained scoreless in the first half despite having nearly as many shots (8) as Saint Vincent (10). Koller would score in the 33rd minute to make the score 2-0 at the intermission.

The Bearcats defense held strong in the second half, while Grewal added her 2nd goal to seal the win in what was another hard-fought game from the Hiram lineup.

The Terriers will play another road match on Wednesday, as they head to New Concord, Ohio to take on Muskingum at 7 p.m. from North Athletic Turf Field.
