HIRAM, Ohio – December 7, 2023 – The Hiram men's wrestling team hosted its first dual meet of the season, falling just short, 36-13, despite several strong performances against Thiel inside Price Gymnasium (full results at bottom).

The result marks the team's first dual meet of the 2023-24 season and its first home event since a quad meet on Feb. 4, 2023, which was held at Fleming Fieldhouse.

Sophomore Will Brodbeck earned his team six points by beating Dreyvin Livingston by fall (4:07) in the 141-lb weight class. Brodbeck is one of seven Hiram student-athletes to eclipse 10 career wins since the program was reinstituted in 2019.

Senior Seth Holt (165 lbs) added another four points to Hiram's score thanks to a win by major decision (10-2) against Dominic Hartman. It continues a string of solid results for Holt, who won twice this past weekend at the Ohio Northern Invitational and earned Terrier of the Week honors for his efforts.

Jimmy Thomas finished the evening strong for the Terriers, winning by decision against Frank Gill (6-3) in the 184-lb class.

Hiram will have a quick turnaround, as it heads to University Heights, Ohio on Sunday for a tri-meet against John Carroll (12 p.m.) and Otterbein (1 p.m.).
