Ward, a first-year student-athlete from Conway, AR, placed her name in the record books at the Mount Union Tune-Up on Friday. She set a new program time of 1:23.50 in the 500-meter dash, which broke the previous program record of 1:24.44 from the 1997 season. In her first collegiate season, Ward broke a record that stood for almost 30 years.
