HIRAM, Ohio – September 9, 2026 – Hiram women's soccer fell to Muskingum University, 2-1, in a late game thriller on Wednesday evening at Henry Field. Â
Muskingum started the scoring off early with a penalty kick in the 4th minute to take a 1-0 lead.Â
Despite the early score, Hiram controlled the pace of the game – outshooting the opponent 15-7. Freshman Jayden Friedman was a bright spot in the first half with two shots on goal and a handful of good-looking crosses. Â
Minutes before a lengthy rain delay at the start of the second half, Reagan Mory found Kali Baker, who put a gorgeous cross-body shot in the back of the net – knotting the game at 1-1. Baker has now recorded a goal in two consecutive games.Â
Coming out of the rain delay, neither team found their groove offensively.  That came to an end in the 84th minute as Muskingum capitalized on an open field attempt to take a 2-1 advantage. Â
Following the Muskies late game goal, Hiram had multiple advantages to score with two corner kicks. Samantha Perdue recorded a shot on one of the corners which had a great chance if the defense had not blocked the shot. Â
Goalkeeper Madie Kennedy saved four of the oppositions six shots on goal. Sydney Kates and Mory each recorded a shot on target.Â
Hiram travels to Pitt-Bradford this Saturday for a non-conference matchup against the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. in Bradford, PA. Â
