Dec. 1- WOOSTER, Ohio- The Hiram College swimming & diving teams wrapped up day two of the Wooster Invitational, Friday night.
On the men's side, Freshman Elijah Skaggs led the Hiram group, improving his previous 100-yard butterfly time in a 26th place finish (54.87). Freshmen trio Brady Gunther (55.42), Darien Street, (59.06), and Dion Thornton (1:02.48) trailed behind.
Gunther also swam a personal best in the 100-yard backstroke (55.64), capturing a spot in the finals.
The 200-yard medley swam their fastest time of the season in 1:45.45. The relay featured Gunther, Street, Skaggs, and junior Michael Barber.
On the women's side, freshman Nicki Prentler shaved seconds off her 100-yard backstroke time (1:17.95) beating out two Chatham swimmers.
The 200-yard medley relay shredded a minute off their previous time clocking in at 2:12.44. The relay team included Prentler, sophomore Jenna Nelson, junior Sierra Daniels, and sophomore Kimmy Morrison.
After day two the men of Case Western Reserve University are in first with 1273.5 points. Gannon University is in second with 849 points, and host College of Wooster has 786 points.
The women of Case Western Reserve University are in first with 1230 points. Westminster College is in second with 845.5 points, and Gannon sits third with 787 points.
The Terriers will complete the Wooster Invitational on Saturday, December 2. The final day is set for a 10 am start.
