Aug. 30 – ALBION, Mich.- The Hiram College women's soccer team fell 3-1 in their season-opening game against Albion, Friday night.
Hannah Ward was the first of both sides to get a shot off in the first four minutes of the game.
From there, each side swapped shots but the two sides played to a scoring stalemate for over 30 minutes.
In the 32nd minute of play, the Britons broke the silence with a goal from Rayna Edwards.
In the second half, Albion added to their lead with two additional goals in the 64th and 65th minute, respectively.
Down 3-1, Hiram got on the board with a goal from junior Hannah Ward.
The Britons managed three more shots, but the late minute attempts were unsuccessful, securing the 3-1 win.
Hiram will be back in action on Sunday, September 1 as the team hits the road again to compete against Alma College. The matchup is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
