Terrier Women's Soccer Trio Honored by OCSA

The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association has recently announced that a trio of Hiram College women's soccer players, led by junior Ally Green, have been awards with honors from the OCSA.

Green, along with sophomore Hannah Ward were named All-Ohio selections. Green earned second-team honors while Ward was named a third-team selection. Additionally, senior Sophie Bell was named a Second-Team Academic All-Ohio selection.

The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association is one of the oldest and most prestigious college soccer associations in the Nation. The OCSA represents all National Collegiate Athletic Association divisions (NCAA), all National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics divisions (NAIA) and all National Junior College Athletic Association divisions (NJCAA) in Ohio.

Green earns Second-Team All-Ohio honors after garnering All-NCAC accolades for the second-straight season. The starting goalie was tabbed a First-Team All-NCAC selection, starting in 16 of the 17 games over the course of the year.

2018 marked the second-consecutive season in which Green had led the NCAC in total saves, making 125, while posting a double-overtime shutout against Wittenberg University in the final game of the regular season.

Five times throughout the course of the year, Green stopped at least 10 shots, including a career-best 18 against UT-Dallas on August 31. She tallied double-digit saves three times against NCAC opponents, including 13 in a 2-1 victory over DePauw.

In her second season with the Terrier program, Hannah Ward became one of the top offensive threats for Hiram. The forward earned First-Team All-NCAC honors, ranking in the top five in the conference in total goals.

Ward did her best work against the NCAC, scoring multiple goals in both conference wins over the course of the year. She tallied both goals, including the game winner, in a 2-1 victory over DePauw on Sept. 29. Two weeks later, she tallied two more in a 4-3 victory over Allegheny.

Throughout the year, Hannah appeared and started in all 17 games, ranking first on the team in total points (16), goals, shots and shot-on-goal percentage (.698). For her efforts, she earned Third-Team All-Ohio honors.

One of just three seniors on the roster, Sophie Bell earned Second-Team Academic All-Ohio honors for the first time in her career.

Bell appeared and started in all 17 games, totaling 13 shots and adding a pair of assists on the season.

Academically, Bell is a biomedical humanities major with minors in both chemistry and public health. She is a member of Hiram's Alpha Society and has been a member of the Dean's List in every semester of her academic career.

On campus, Bell serves as the President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at both Hiram, and at the conference level, while also dedicating her time as a tutor and a SHARE advocate.

The three individual honorees for the Terriers, marks the first time in program history that three separate Terrier players have been honored by the OCSA in the same season.
