HIRAM, OHIO -- Hiram College Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Erika Blozie recently traveled to Berlin, Germany to help coach the USA Athletes International team to a tournament championship in the Berlin Open Lacrosse Tournament.
The three-day tournament was held on June 21-23 at Stadion Lichterfelde in Berlin and was comprised of 12 teams on the women's side. The event is the largest lacrosse tournament in Europe. Blozie's team was made up of a total of 15 players from across the United States and was comprised of players from all collegiate divisions.
"Partaking in the Berlin Open with a team of US athletes was a very rewarding experience," said Blozie. "We were able to compete against athletes from many countries while learning more about the culture that surrounded us. I was thrilled when we took first place in the tournament and hope I will have another chance to coach internationally in the future."
