2019-20 Women’s Basketball Season Preview

HIRAM, Ohio - November 7, 2019- The Hiram College women's basketball team will infuse veteran and freshman experience in the 2019-20 season, as the Terriers look to improve in the North Coast Athletic Conference under third-year head coach Alex Dellas.

Last season, the Terriers graduated just one senior. Dellas brings back nine letter winners while adding six newcomers.

"We are bringing back a very talented, young group of women and are thrilled with the way all of our first-year players are clicking with our returners," commented Dellas. "It will be about our consistency and confidence for forty minutes of play."

Junior guard Tashauna Wright will lead the Terriers after becoming the first sophomore in Hiram history, to be named a First-Team All-NCAC selection following the 2018-19 season. Wright produced one of the single-best scoring performances in Hiram history, scoring an NCAC-best 16.5 points per game, while tallying a career-best in field-goal percentage, rebounds per game (4.8), assists and steals.

Hiram also sees the return of juniors Madison Branch, Alainna Conroy, Amanda Holzman, and MicKayla Baldwin.

The guard duo Conroy and Branch added 10 and nine points respectively last season. Conroy also contributed three rebounds a game, while Branch managed 1.9 steals per game.

Holzman averaged 3.9 points per game while posting a career-high 25 points against Allegheny on Feb. 1.

Baldwin returns to the floor after making 15 game appearances in her second season.

The sophomore group will include key returners Megan Davis, Gabriella Dukarm, Cici Bright, and Brianna Woodworth.

The roster will now feature six fresh faces that include Haley Thompson, Alyssa Maraia, Ashley Cameron, Taylor Valaitis, Iyana Smith, and Sam Cain.
