BETHANY, W. Va. -- The Hiram College men's swimming & diving team fell at Bethany (W. Va.) on Saturday by a 114-71 score.
The Terriers are now 0-7 on the season, while the Bison move to 1-4.
Senior Danny Essel (Euclid, Ohio/Euclid) and sophomore John Kost (Chantill, Va./Westfield) each won an event to pace Hiram.
Essel won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.78 and Kost captured the 50-yard freestyle in 25.19 second.
Freshman Reeve Bowling (Minneapolis, Minn./Thomas Jefferson) recorded a pair of second place finishes. He finished second in the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard I.M. in 54.96 and 2:13.24, respectively.
Junior Jordan Canevari (Vero Beach, Fla./St. Edward's) was second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:04.74.
Hiram will now take some time off and will swim next on January 9, when it hosts Wittenberg at 1 p.m.
