Le’Roux Scores Twice as Terriers Defeat Edgewood 5-1
Aug. 31 – DEFIANCE, Ohio- The Hiram men's soccer team defeated Edgewood 5-1 in the second day of the Purple and Gold Classic, Saturday afternoon.  
 
The Terriers improve to 2-0-0 on the season and the Eagles fall to a 0-1-0 record. 
 
Sophomore Ali Al-Khatib put the Terriers on the board when he scored within the first ten minutes of the game. Al-Khatib finished the match with two shots on goal. 
 
Less than 20 minutes later, senior Saint Roger Bountsebe added to the Hiram lead when he found the back of the net with an assist from junior Bryce Harding, making the score 2-0. 
 
In the 48th minute of play, Edgewood scored their lone goal of the game cutting the Hiram lead to 2-1.  
 
The Terriers responded with back-to-back goals from freshman Keagan Le'Roux pushing the Terriers lead to 4-1.  
 
Freshman Antonio Vitale scored the last Hiram goal off an assist from Al-Khatib to solidify the 5-1 victory.  
 
In goal, senior CJ Keith claimed his first win of the season with six saves in his 90 minutes of work.  
 
Hiram outshot the Eagles 21-13 with three corner kicks.  
 
The Terriers return home for their season opener on Friday, September 6 when they host Medaille (N.Y.) at 7:00 p.m.
