Sept. 9 – HIRAM, Ohio – Despite outshooting the Lions 24-16, the Hiram College men's soccer team was defeated by Penn State Behrend on Sunday afternoon by a 1-0 score.
Hiram was off to a quick start, tallying a shot from Saint Roger Bountsebe and Trevor Wendel in the first five minutes.
The Terriers and the Lions shared shots back and forth but neither was able to score. They both played to a 0-0 score in the first 45 minutes.
In the 65th minute, Penn State Behrend scored off a penalty kick to secure the first goal of the game.
Although the Terriers registered 12 shots in the second half, none were able to find their way past the Lions' net, securing the win for the visitors.
In goal, junior CJ Keith finished the match with two saves.
Hiram will get back to work on Saturday, September 15 as they take on Mount Union. The matchup is a scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start.
