Sept.7- BUFFALO, New York- The Hiram College men's soccer team dropped a 5-2 decision to Medaille, Friday night.
The Mavericks did a majority of the damage in the opening twenty-minute span, finding the net two times between the 2nd and 19th minute.
The Terriers offense looked for a scoring chance in the first half outshooting the host 6-5 with a 5-2 advantage in corners.
Fresh out of the break, Hiram's Richard Milford scored a goal to cut Medaille's lead to one. Milford's goal marked his first of the season and third overall.
The host secured back-to-back goals in the 69th and 70th minute to capture a 4-1 lead.
Hiram responded a minute later with junior Stephen Barimah posting his first career goal.
Medaille tallied one last goal to cement their 5-2 victory.
Offensively, Barimah led the Terriers with three of the teams seven shots on net.
Defensively, junior CJ Keith finished the night with five saves.
Hiram will return to Charles A. Henry Field for their home opener on Sunday, September 9 as they take on Penn State Behrend. The matchup is slated for a 2:00 p.m. start.
