Mar.13- BETHANY, W.Va.- The Hiram College men's lacrosse team earned an 8-2 win in the non-conference matchup with Bethany, Wednesday night.
With the victory over Bethany, the Terriers move to 5-0 overall, while the Bison fell to 2-2.
The Bison were the first to strike with a goal from Nicholas Melita (1-0).
The Terriers responded less than a minute later with a man-up goal from senior Justin Dionne (1-1).
In the second quarter, Bethany would pull ahead 2-1 off a goal from Chandler Dunn.
Dionne would score one last time before the half to tie the score at 2-2.
In the first half, the Terriers did major damage outshooting the Bison 29-14, and holding a 14-12 advantage in groundballs, and tallying six caused turnovers.
Fresh out the half, Hiram's defense went to work holding Bethany scoreless in their last 30 minutes of play.
Dionne ended the night tying his season high in goals (4) by netting a pair of goals.
Junior Jaret Walland made his scoring debut of the night in the fourth quarter, adding a trio of goals to tally his fourth multi-goal game of the season.
Junior Tim Stucky scored the final Terrier goal of the frame to secure the 8-2 victory.
In goal, junior Liam Osborne finished the night with 17 saves.
Hiram will return to the field on Tuesday, March 19 as they travel to Houghton (N.Y.) at 5:30 p.m.
