CLEVELAND, Ohio – The North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) announced on Monday morning that junior Kelvin Jones has been selected as the NCAC Player of the Week.
This is the first time this season that Jones received the honor and second time in his career.
The accolade came after the Terriers split a pair of games last week against conference rivals Denison and Kenyon. Jones finished the week with a total of 32 points and 29 rebounds.
In Hiram's victory over the Lords, Jones recorded his fourteenth double-double performance of the season. Over the course of the game, the junior racked up team-highs in both points (18) and rebounds (17).
Jones also recorded a double-double against the Big Red. He tied for the team high in points (12) and led the team in rebounds (12).
Jones has established himself as one of the biggest offensive threats in Division III. He currently leads the country in field goal percentage (.690) in addition to holding the top spot in the NCAC in rebounds per game (11.1) and total rebounds (278). He also ranks fifth in the conference in points per game with 17.3.
Jones and the rest of the Terriers next travel to Springfield, Ohio to face Wittenberg in the first round of the NCAC Championships. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
