FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Haverford (Pa.) scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth for a walkoff 7-6 victory over the Hiram College baseball team at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Florida.
The Terriers are now 0-6 on the season, while the Fords improve to 5-1.
Junior Brandon Chesmar (Elyria, Ohio/Amherst Steele) went 3-for-3 with a run scored. He also walked twice.
Hiram opened the scoring in the top of the first with Ward lacing a single to score freshman Bryan Engdahl (Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual).
Haverford tied the game in the first and added a run in the third to jump in front 2-1.
