WOOSTER, Ohio -- Junior Trevor Foster (Warren/Champion) hit his first homer of the season as the Hiram College baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to No. 12-ranked Wooster on Sunday.

The Terriers are now 7-22 overall and 3-11 in the NCAC East, while the Fighting Scots improve to 24-5, 10-2.

Foster's homer came in the second game of the twin bill and was the first of his career.

In Game 2, Hiram jumped out to a early 1-0 lead in the second on a RBI single from senior Mark Leone (Boardman).

Wooster would tie the game in the bottom of the frame, but Hiram came right back with a 4-run third inning.

With the bases loaded, freshman Phil Ward (Garfield Heights) singled to score both senior Jaren Bell (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) and sophomore Kyle Torok (Kirtland).

Foster would follow with his 2-run blast to give Hiram the 5-1 edge.

Wooster would respond with five runs in the bottom of the frame to regain the lead 6-5.

From there, the Fighting Scots would add two runs in the fourth and fifth and four more in the eighth en route to a 18-5 win.

Freshman Kyle Watson (Warren/Howland) paced the Terrier offense, going 3-for-4 with a run scored.

In the first game, the Fighting Scots jumped out to a 11-0 lead, eventually winning the contest 11-4.

The Terriers scored three times in the sixth on RBI hits by Ward, Watson and Foster. Hiram would tack on another run in the seventh on a RBI single by sophomore Eric Martin (Brookfield).

Senior Jeff Segal (West Bloomfield, Mich./North Farmington), Leone and Watson all collected two hits in the game.

Hiram will return to action on Wednesday, when it hosts Oberlin in a key NCAC doubleheader that is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
