ALLIANCE, Ohio - April 24, 2025 - Hiram track & field competed in the Walsh Invitational over the last two days, an event that was hosted by Walsh University but held on the campus of the University of Mount Union.
The results were strong for the Terriers, as new personal bests and program records were officially written.
Men's Recap
Sebastian Regalado led the Terriers in the 110-meter hurdles (17.05) before Dre Nelson did the same in the 100-meter dash (11.68). Nelson would later fill in as a late substitution for the 4x100 relay, running a strong time with the team of Kyle Filkill, Kevin Dycks and Kamran Walton (43.45).
Michael Crosby had a good showing in his first ever collegiate performance in the 1,500-meter run, working his way to a time of 4:30.85. Nathan Feltner followed in the 400-meter dash (51.98) and DeAco Curry placed in the top-20 for the 800-meter run (1:56.25).
Filkill returned to the track in the 200-meter dash, nearing a career-best time with a mark of 22.72 (career-best is 22.49). Dycks also beat his career-best time in the same event (22.79), capping off the notable individual finishes.
Women's Recap
On Wednesday, Addison Disman got Hiram started on a high note by placing fourth in the javelin throw with a new lifetime best mark (33.15m, 108' 9"). In that same day, Chloe Cooper ranked in the top-20 for the hammer throw (36.47m, 119' 8"), topping her previous career best, which also was the previous program record.
To start the day on Thursday, Rylie Petroff posted a new career-best in the shot put (11.30m, 37' 1"). Her teammate, Juliana Gunn, who is also her teammate on the women's basketball team, qualified for the finals in the long jump (5.02m, 16' 5¾").
In the running events, the Terriers were spearheaded by the efforts of Trezure Bates in the 100-meter hurdles (16.21), Alisah Ward in the 400-meter dash (1:00.46), and the duo of Kairi Etsitty (2:41.14) and Gabrielle Minick (2:46.99) in the 800-meter run.
What's Next
The men's team will return to action next Friday for the NCAC Outdoor Championships, while Kylie Moser will represent the women's team at the NCAC Combined Events on Saturday in Oberlin, Ohio.
