HIRAM, Ohio - February 7, 2025 - Hiram continued its journey through the early stages of the indoor track & field season on Friday evening at the Dan Kinsey, with both the men and women getting more exposure to familiar competition from the NCAC, OAC, PAC and AMCC.
Women's Recap
Trezure Bates crossed the finish line first in the 60-meter hurdles, nearing her program record (9.60) with a top mark of 9.65. Moments before that result, Kylie Moser placed sixth in the one-mile run (5:37.19), which broke her previous program record from last season (5:56.38).
In the 400-meter dash, Alisah Ward placed sixth with a mark of 1:05.97. Her first-year teammate, Frances Popik, wasn't far behind in that same event (1:07.24). The rest of the track events were highlighted by the second-place finishing team of Ward, Popik, Bates and Makyndree Smith in the 4x400 relay (4:28.89).
Karalyn Rutkowski won the high jump (1.52m) and Sam Volpe placed fourth in the shot put (10.92m), while Lillian O'Bryant broke the Hiram indoor program record in the weight throw (11.40m), breaking the previous record that stood for nearly two decades.
Men's Recap
Sebastian Regalado beat his own program record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.17, beating his previous mark from the Wuske Invite last Saturday (9.22). Regalado placed first in the event, with his teammate, Maurice Wadesisi, finishing second (9.27).
Freshman Nathan Feltner had a breakout performance in the 400-meter dash, ranking third in a field of 17 student-athletes with a mark of 53.16. Shortly thereafter, Kevin Dycks broke the program record in the 60-meter dash (7.30), passing his teammate Tucker Marmash (7.31). Dycks later neared the program's best mark (23.36, Bruce Alexander in 2001) by finishing second in the 200-meter dash (23.88).
DeAco Curry kept his senior season in prime form, placing sixth out of 23 runners in the 800-meter run (2:03.22). In the field events, Gavin Dunn led the way by winning the high jump (1.82m) and landing second in the long jump (6.83m), with Tucker Marmash finishing in fourth in the latter of those two events (6.49m).

Both teams return to competition next Saturday for the All-Ohio Indoor Championships on the campus of Otterbein University.
