HIRAM, Ohio - February 15, 2025 - The strong results continued to pour in on Saturday at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships, as Hiram set itself up for a great rest of the season thanks to a number of individual performances inside the Clements Recreation Center.
Highlighting the day was Gavin Dunn, who won the long jump with a new program record, along with a number of relay teams for both the men's and women's teams.
Men's Recap
Dunn continued to build on the freshman splash that he's made all season by winning the long jump with a new program record of 7.20m (23' 6"). The first-year from Apopka, FL beat the record originally set by Hall of Famer Eric Thompson in 1971 (23' 3"). The result puts Dunn in a position to make nationals later on this season.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Nathan Feltner, Kevin Dycks, Taneil Gaddis and Kamran Walton placed second in their heat with a time of 1:34.32. Only Mount Union (1:31.11) placed better in that section.
Also placing second in their heat was the 4x400-meter relay team of Feltner, Walton, Kyle Filkill and DeAco Curry (3:33.01).
Women's Recap
The women's relay teams were also in the zone out in Westerville, beginning with the distance medley relay team of Elaine Guyette, McKenzie Riley, Alisah Ward and Kylie Moser. That group – which was entirely comprised of first-years and sophomores – posted a solid time of 14:00.50.
Then came the 4x400-meter relay, which featured Ward, Frances Popik, Makyndree Smith and Trezure Bates (4:28.74).
Sam Volpe wrapped up the day in the shot put with a mark of 10.71m.
What's Next
Both teams will take part in the Mount Union Tune-Up on Friday in Alliance ahead of the NCAC Indoor Championships to wrap up the indoor season later in the month.
