Maxx Sweet

Sweet enters his second season with the Hiram College Men’s Basketball program as an assistant coach.

Prior to joining Hiram College, Sweet spent the 2017-2018 season as an assistant coach at Centenary University in Hackettstown, N.J., where he helped coach two All-Colonial States Athletic Conference honorees.

Previously, Sweet was the Head JV coach and the top varsity assistant coach at Sierra Vista High School in Las Vegas, Nev. where he implemented his own offensive strategies and helped the team earn a top-10 ranking in the state. Sweet is also the founder and head coach of his own AAU program called “Pave The Way Basketball Club”. Sweet has spent 7 years as an AAU basketball coach and has had a dozen players go on to compete at the college level.

Sweet also spent a season in 2016-17 as a basketball skills trainer for Ultimate Hoops where he ran his own camps and clinics and worked with many NBA, Euro League, and collegiate players. He has also spent time scouting for multiple National Basketball League teams in Australia.

Sweet began his coaching career as an assistant at Eastern University, spending one season with the program.

A standout player in New Jersey, Sweet earned four varsity letters at North Warren Regional High School as well as All-Conference honors in three different seasons. Sweet continued his basketball playing career, playing collegially at SUNY Adirondack and Eastern University.

Sweet earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Eastern University in 2015, and currently pursuing his master's degree in education for athletic administration at North Central University.
