Swim Lessons at Hiram College

Swim with the Hiram College Terriers Swim Team

Information:

  •  Levels 1 through 5 are offered each time
  •  Lessons are 35 minutes with 10 minutes of free time at the end
  •  Each child needs a separate wufoo form
  •  Checks should be made payable to Hiram College Swimming & Diving and submitted no later than the first day of lessons for each session


2018-19 Swim Lesson Sessions & Dates

Session 1 - October 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11 (choose 4 or more dates)
7:00-7:45pm (all levels)
Cost: $48.00 per child for the first 4 dates, $60.00 for 5 dates (then add $10 for each additional date up to all 8)
 
Session 2 - October 14, 21, 28 and November 4, 11
Choose from 2:00-2:45, 3:00-3:45 or 4:00-4:45 (all levels)
Cost: $60.00 per child for all five lessons
 
Session 3 - January 13, 20, 27 and February 3, 10
Choose from 2:00-2:45, 3:00-3:45 or 4:00-4:45 (all levels)
Cost: $60.00 per child for all five lessons

What level should my child be in?

"Jellyfish"
(Bubbles & Floats)

Just getting used to the water, including water safety.

How to put face in water, how to float, mechanics of kicking, and freestyle strokes.

"Seahorse"

(Front Crawl/Freestyle)
How to put face in the water and basic mechanics of freestyle. How to swim freestyle (across the pool, unsupported), and basic mechancis of backstroke.

"Halibut (fish)"

(Backstroke)
How to swim freestyle (across the pool, unsupported) and basic mechanics of backstroke. How to swim backstroke (across the pool, unsupported), stream lines, treading water, and beginning to dive.
4
"Otter"

(Breaststroke) 
How to swim freestyle and backstroke (across pool, unsupported), steamlines and treading water. How to swim breaststroke (across the pool, unsupported), beginning flip turns, and advance with dives.

5
"Dolphin"

(Butterfly)

How to swim breaststroke, backstroke and freestyle (across the pool, unsupported) How to swim butterfly (accross the pool, unsupported), to dive in, flip turns, and gain endurance.
